Chicken Tender Wraps with Garlic Sauce

Easy, flavorful, and healthy chicken tenders marinated in a few spices and served with an incredibly delicious white sauce! Use your choice of bread and add whatever toppings you like to make this simple and delicious meal that’s perfect for lazy days or busy nights! 

Chicken dinners are so versatile and easy to put together! You can use them to make wraps, serve with a side of sauce, put them in salads, make chicken over rice bowls…however else you like. These chicken tender wraps were especially easy to make since you don’t have to cut the chicken into smaller pieces and cook them as they are. This saves a lot of time during preparation and clean up. 

Not only that, the chicken has no wait time for the marinate to sit and is ready in less than 15 minutes from start to finish. This recipe involves cooking them on the stovetop using a pan or skillet. The chicken takes only a few minutes to cook per side and chars beautifully. However, you can bake or air fry them if you prefer and they will still turn out great!

The garlic sauce is the same sauce that was used in my halal cart style chicken and rice! I use it all the time on wraps, burritos, and bowls. It’s definitely a sauce to keep ready and have on rotations! To make it you just need 4 basic pantry ingredients! Yogurt, mayonnaise, black pepper, and minced garlic. I added a bit of lemon juice for a kick of tang but if you’re yogurt has any tanginess to it then skip it!

Whether it’s lunch or dinner, these are perfect for those days when you don’t have a lot of energy and want to quickly put a delicious meal on the table. It even works for meal prep! You can marinate and cook a large batch of chicken and double or triple the white sauce! Then use the chicken to create a variety of different meals throughout the week such as salads, burritos, tacos, rice bowls, and wraps. Add the sauce and any other toppings or sides you enjoy! Truly a simple yet tasty and effortless meal for everyone!

Ingredients
 

For the chicken:

  • 6 chicken tenders (1 lb chicken)
  • 1.5 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1-2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (+/- to your preference)
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp oil plus more for cooking

For the white sauce:

  • 4 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1-2 tsp minced garlic
  • pinch of lemon juice (omit if yogurt is tangy)

Other:

  • 6 flour tortillas
  • chopped lettuce

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the chicken tenders with oil, chopped cilantro, garlic powder or minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and lemon juice. 
  • Heat some oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat and add the chicken tenders. Cook on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes per side until the chicken is well done and cooked through.
  • To make the sauce, simply combine all of the ingredients listed in that category and mix together. 
  • For the wraps, warm each flour tortilla on a skillet until cooked through and has charred/brown spots.
  • To assemble, spread the sauce on a tortilla and layer with the lettuce and chicken, along with any other toppings you like. Wrap it up and enjoy!
